How much do I need to water my garden?

Water your plants every other day for a few weeks until your plants become established. You can use a sprinkler, a hose with a nozzle wand or water your garden by hand with a watering can using several gallons of water. If you hit a dry spell during the summer season, you may need to water your plants to help them through the dry period. Once your plants are established the rain should be enough water for them.

If you plant in the early spring, meaning April through the first week of May you can get away without watering if you take care to plant just before a rainstorm, and hand watering if they get dried out between rainstorms. Remember, these are plugs so their roots adapt quickly to the native soils.

You could always set up irrigation if you feel like being a professional, but it's not necessary, that's the beauty of using landscape plugs.

What is edging your garden?

Edging your garden is simply making a clear separation between the lawn and the landscape. You can do this in a few different ways:

  1. Outlining the landscape using your shovel. See our video on our resources page.
  2. Using 'metal landscape edging which can be purchased at a home improvement store. This is the easiest option.
  3. Create a line of delimitation by using brick or stone to outline the landscape.
